Javad Hatami graduated from the University of Tabriz in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in educational technology and was immediately accepted to Allameh Tabatabai University in the same year and in the same field. He started working as a faculty member (lecturer) at the University of Tabriz in 1999 and then continued his PhD in Curriculum Studies at Tarbiat Modares University in 2000 and has continued to work at the University of Tabriz as an Assistant Professor since 2006.
He was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in 2009 and moved to Tarbiat Modares University. He also was promoted to the rank of Full Professor in 2019. Prof. Hatami has established the Educational Technology PhD program at Tarbiat Modares University since 2012 and has trained more than 40 graduates in that field. During his service at the university, he has written more than 23 books and more than 200 articles and has presented papers at 17 international conferences.
He has also been implemented 11 national and 2 international research projects. During his service as an academic staff, he has sabbatical in European and Australian universities several times. He is editor in Chief of two scientific-research journals. Being editorial board of more than five journal is part of his scientific activities in publishing scientific outputs. Dr. Hatami has also been the executive manager of 7 international conferences.
The first invention in the field of humanities (a kit that converts colors to digital codes) that has educational applications and has been approved by the Scientific and Industrial Research Organization of Iran is one of his other honors. Dr. Hatami has established a knowledge-based company in the field of educational technology since 2016, and 6 e-Lab software are part of the activities of the company under his management. Dr. Hatami is a founding member of the Iranian Educational Technology Scientific Association(NGO) and has been a member of the board of directors of the Iranian Curriculum Studies Association(NGO). Among his executive and managerial backgrounds are the following: Deputy Director of the National Education Assessment Organization, Deputy Director of Supervision of the Comprehensive University of Applied Sciences, Director of Evaluation office of Tabriz University, Director of Evaluation office of Tarbiat Modares University, Deputy Director of Education of the Faculty of Humanities, Director of the Department of Educational Sciences, Member of the Education and Training Commission of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, Founder of the Student Scientific Olympiad in the field of Educational Sciences, Vice Chairman of the Supreme Council of the National Student Scientific Olympiad, Vice Chairman of the Cultural Council of the Evaluation Organization, and Member of the Comprehensive Educational Commission of Tarbiat Modares University.
